Operations
At CFE, we consider ways to help keep our environment green in everything we do.

Below is just a sample list of the ways CFE is going green:
-
CFE uses recycled copy paper and other office supplies.
-
Marketing has begun printing all of its brochures on recycled paper.
-
Wherever possible we rely on electronic forms of communication, discouraging email printing with an environmentally friendly reminder in our email signatures to “think of our environment before printing.”
-
Employees are encouraged to view documents electronically but if printing is unavoidable we promote double-sided printing.
-
All of our monthly financial reports, plus daily reports are no longer printed, but distributed electronically only.
-
Member share drafts are stored as electronic images, and members have access to the images electronically. Likewise our credit union cashier checks are stored as images.
-
Check deposits made over the counter and through ATMs are converted to electronic images, and transmitted electronically to other financial institutions.
-
Payroll is mandatorily ACH, and paycheck statements are accessible via electronic image only.
-
Human Resources posts job openings electronically, and utilizes online employment applications, with approximately 90% of all resumes received electronically.
-
Employee handbook binders are recycled and refilled for incoming new hires, and we reuse training materials.
-
Enrollment in employee benefits is performed online.
-
We offer “no receipt” options at our CFE ATMs.
-
Lights are turned off whenever conference rooms are not in use, and the lights we do use are highly efficient fluorescents.
-
Staff meetings frequently utilize projectors and PowerPoints, instead of printed paper presentations; and personnel meet via conference call instead of traveling to locations.

With our internal “green team’s” help and ideas, we hope to implement more green routines ongoing.
